Sobre Texas Bbq
In Texas, BBQ is a religion. We don’t typically use sauce, we use pickles instead. We smoke our meat slow & low with 100% wood (never gas or charcoal), we season simply so that the flavor of the meat shines through. We sell BBQ by the pound, it comes with white bread and if you want some sides we’ll always have a couple to choose from.
Here at PapiCarne, we are all about supporting Peru, so we buy our products from our local providers and neighbors. The only thing that we’ve imported to make our BBQ taste like home is US grown Angus beef, everything else comes from local farmers and businesses that are mostly within a few blocks of the restaurant. Our sauces, pickles, fries, basically everything we put on the table, it’s all made from scratch right here.
We love and appreciate all of our customers and strive to bring you the best products every day…from deep in the heart of Texas.

Nuestra Historia
OUR STORY IN PERU…
We wanted an epic honeymoon. We wanted to disappear for a while in a place that would be equally remote and posh, natural yet modern, adventurous and also elegant, a place we could remember for the rest of our lives.
Peru just made sense.
We would go wild in the Sacred Valley, then recoup our civility in one of the world’s most flavorful cities. We would eat and drink, discover and wonder, repose and revel in the immense diversity that shines from the soul of this marvelous country.
We fell in love, which is the ideally unplannable plan for a honeymoon, and as the place infused my vibe with good, the possibility of a Peruvian dreamscape broke through the soil. We were starving for that nourishing light which can only be ingested when properly seasoned with risk. We fell in love with the adventure.
Upon our return to Texas, I began to plot and to plant the yet dormant seed of this sprouting dream and as I wandered this fantastic garden, she scarcely believed that these willowy ideas would ever bear fruit. Through all the bramble, she was (and still remains) ever supportive, and the little roots I was trying my best to foster began to find sustenance in her calm encouragement. Eventually, the tree began to flower and we found ourselves in an Airbnb in La Perla. Once we flew our pets here we both knew there was no recourse, we had come to stay.
There were certainly challenges. It took us six months to find a space that would fit our meager budget, but once we caught the rhythm of the local wave, the dance began to build. We have been supremely blessed to find the family of people who gave (and give) so much of themselves in support of our wild vision as it has evolved.
We now have the auspicious opportunity to serve one of the most food-obsessed cultures on the planet. We continue to strive for the joy of our local family and of our beloved customers, doing our best to provide a distinct experience in every plate we put up. Our boundless gratitude is yours and we pray that you will all enjoy our eternal honeymoon as much as we enjoy any happiness we can bring into your lives.
We’re just having fun here…and we hope y’all are too!
Blissfully yours,
L.J. & Brandy Wiley
